PROUDLY MAKING CANADIAN GOLD—BE A PART OF OUR TEAM _________________________________________________________________________________________ MINE CONTROLLER _________________________________________________________________________________________ REPORTING TO THE COMMERCIAL MANAGER AND BASED EITHER AT OUR MINE SITE OR REGIONAL OFFICE IN COCHRANE, THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE A SEASONED ACCOUNTANT WITH AN IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING & REPORTING, PREFERABLY IN THE MINING/RESOURCE SECTOR. RESPONSIBILITIES: •Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments; •Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing / billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, fixed asset records; •Plan, manage, coordinate, and implement the month / quarter / year-end closing processes; •Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports; •Prepare yearly budgets and forecasts; •Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting standards and principles (IFRS); •Generate and implement cost saving initiatives; •Assist in the professional development and mentoring of accounting and payroll staff.
